Melanie (Mel) Shaver-Durham joined the team at Effective School Solutions after a long career in public education. The daughter of two lifelong educators, Mel has served as a 1st grade teacher, reading specialist, K-12 reading supervisor, director of elementary education, elementary principal, and curriculum director. In her role as the Director of District Partnerships, she is committed to combating the youth mental health crisis by supporting schools in the implementation of comprehensive therapeutic programming.
Mel is the proud mom of Joey and Lucy and is happily remarried to her husband Mitch. She is passionate about social justice work and enjoys yoga, taking long walks, listening to jazz and singing in her church choir. Mel is also passionate about interior design and started an E-design business, Melmitchia Interiors, in 2020.
